🌱 Joining as a Recipient

We are not currently accepting new recipients. The platform is still in an early stage and our focus right now is on serving the people already here well — not on growing the roster.

Longer term, the plan is to open-source the entire platform once it's more fully developed. Rather than everything running through one central site that needs to vet every applicant, anyone will be able to run their own node for their own community. That's a healthier model, and it means you won't need our approval to use it.

Please don't send project applications — we won't be able to respond to them. If you have a genuine existing connection to someone already on the platform, feel free to get in touch through the email address below.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sponsor someone?

Browse our verified projects, choose a person to sponsor, and send Bitcoin directly to their wallet. No intermediaries!

How do you verify projects?

Recipients are people personally known to the platform operator — the verification is relational, not procedural. We are not currently adding new recipients; see the section above.

Do you charge fees?

No. 100% of your payment goes directly to the recipient. We don't take any administrative fees or commissions.

What about tax receipts?

DirectSponsor is not a registered charity organization - we're a peer-to-peer platform. Consult your accountant about tax implications.

Why Bitcoin instead of traditional payments?

Bitcoin enables instant global payments with low fees, no intermediaries, and complete transparency. Perfect for peer-to-peer charity.

Can I cancel my sponsorship?

Yes! Since you control the payments directly, you can stop or modify sponsorship at any time. We recommend giving recipients advance notice when possible.
